- FEAST DAY OF
- ST.
PELAGIA
|
Pelagia was the most beautiful, richest, but one of the most wicked woman of her area.
One Sunday, on her afternoon drive in her glittering coach, she passed the Cathedral of Antioch and heard the thundering voice of the bishop sermonizing to his faithful. She listened intently and when the sermon was over, Pelagia bowed her head in shame and departed. From that moment on she was transformed and asked forgiveness of her sins, gave away all her possessions and departed into the desert to live a monastic life. She lived in a hut in the Garden of Gethsemane in Jerusalem seeking to purify her soul from sin and evil. From a sinner she became a Saint through the power of her Christian Faith. |
